The primary function of the Medical Assistant is to support the existing Medical Team and extend the hours of direct Medical coverage for residents. This position must also adhere to all regulations described in The Bridge Policies and Procedures relating to dental services, nutrition services, emergency services, lab services, pharmacy services, radiology services, infection control, sterile supplies and CQI Program.

Adhere to all regulations described in The Bridge Policies and Procedures relating to dental services, nutrition services, emergency services, lab services, pharmacy services, radiology services, infection control, sterile supplies and CQI Program.
Conduct drug screenings, give injections and perform venipuncture as needed.
Monitor the client’s self administration of medication.
Assist Nurse and Medical Director in organizing and maintaining medical office in accordance with program policies and procedures.
Responsible for assisting with the transportation of clients to off-site medical appointments.
Ability to work with and educate non-medical staff in absence of nurse.
Ability to set and maintain appropriate rules and limits.
Ability to handle crisis/emergency situations.
Mature and responsible work habits.
Attend at least 80% of all applicable in-services offered.
Handle crisis/emergency situations according to outlined Bridge Policies and Procedures Life Skills/Counselors Manual.
To provide data entry support for Residential Program.
File documents in residential client treatment file.
Requirements:
Medical Assistant Diploma and two years relevant work experience.
Certified or trained in C.P.R. safety techniques.
Knowledge of Substance/Alcohol Abuse.
Good organizational and communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to changing needs/priorities.
Ability to work as part of a team.
A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Ability to maintain records, document interactions, and prepare reports.
