Job Description

The employees in this position are responsible for managing Research Assistants as well as supporting all aspects related to data collection including: travel to recreation sites, observations of drinking water behaviors, data entry, and data cleaning.

This is a Temporary and Part-Time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION CONTENT FOCUS: The employee in this position will work on data collection and management activities to support our Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded grant project called Hydrate Philly. Hydrate Philly is a group randomized controlled trial aimed at increasing water access and appeal in community recreation centers through installing new hydration stations/bottle fillers.

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:

The Research Coordinator will accomplish the following:

  • Coordinate site visits, scheduling, and research activities for approximately 6 Research Assistants.
  • Follow protocols for conducting systematic observations to measure water consumption and help support Research Assistants in following protocols.
  • Travel to recreation centers in Philadelphia to complete observations for data collection.
  • Complete observations of water drinking and bottle filling behavior in recreation centers
  • Enter, check, and clean data from observations and monitor data quality from observations
  • Perform metric reporting for grants and internal purposes.
  • Performs related work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree and 1 year work experience in epidemiology, biostatistics, quantitative methodology, public health, public policy, social or behavioral sciences or related field from an accredited college or university.

OR

Any equivalent combination of education and experience determined to be acceptable by the Department of Public Health.

  • Prior social science research experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Supervisory experience

  • PA Childline Clearance
  • PA Criminal Check
  • FBI Background Check

SALARY:

  • Hourly rate of $16 per hour
