Job Description


Coordinate multiple public health projects. Work with supervisor to create and manage service provider contracts to ensure deliverables are met. Manage project budgets. Establish and purchase supplies. Potentially supervise one or more staff as well as interns. Ensure program quality.

  • AmeriCorps State Program
    1. Assist in writing program application with feedback from Project Officer
    2. Coordinate with sub-sites to meet program requirements and onboard site supervisors
    3. Develop training schedule for AmeriCorps members and data collection tools for evaluation
  • AmeriCorps VISTA Program
    1. Assist in completing application for 2019-2020 program year
    2. Coordinate with site supervisors for recruitment of incoming AmeriCorps VISTA members
    3. Compile progress reports from VISTA members
    4. Assist in managing and mentoring AmeriCorps VISTA Leader
  • SAMHSA Opioid Outreach and Education
    1. Develop educational content for opioid use disorder and connecting communities to services
    2. Coordinate with PHMC and health center staff to provide educational workshops to community
    3. Conduct outreach in the North Philadelphia community to provide resources for opioid use disorder
    4. Connect community members to necessary health care services related to opioid use disorder
  • Emergency Preparedness
    1. Provide support for training and technical assistance efforts
  • Related duties as assigned


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.      
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong fiscal and budgeting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as a team.
  • Ability to take initiative, identify and address tasks without prompting, meet deadlines, and follow through on assignments.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments from multiple staff members


  • At least two years of experience in public health, project coordination, or related area required. AmeriCorps experience preferred. Supervisory experience preferred. A Masters degree in public health, public administration or a related field may be substituted for at least one year of experience.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelors degree required. Masters degree preferred.
