Job Description:

The clinician will have knowledge of chemical dependency and the recovery process with particular awareness of the needs of women from diverse cultures. IHI is seeking an individual who has a strong theoretical framework, works well independently as well as with a small team. This person will have experience / familiarity in working with women with co-occurring disorders, some whom are on MAT’s (suboxone or vivitrol). The person in this position is someone whom can empower participants and assist in their healing process in a safe, supportive environment.

Background:

Interim House Inc. (IHI) provides substance use treatment to the women of Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. Located in Mt. Airy we provide participant centered, holistic and trauma informed care to women in a residential treatment facility. We provide five (5) levels of care: short and long term residential, halfway house, IOP and OP.

During the last year, IHI has seen an increase in our IOP as we have received referrals from community based residential programs as well as IHI’s residential program. The IOP community consists of a cohesive group of women with varying lengths of sobriety/recovery. The groups are small, ranging from 10 to 15 women per group.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide weekly individual therapy in person and/or via Zoom
  • Provide psychoeducational groups as per the IOP weekly schedule
  • In collaboration with program participants, discuss, review and create Initial Recovery Plan within two days of intake
  • Complete Bio-Psychosocial within 15 days of admission
  • Complete Master Comprehensive Recovery Plan within 30 days of admission.
  • Ensure each Recovery Plan is updated every 60 days, in collaboration with program participant and obtain all required signatures.
  • Collaborate with designated IHI caseworker and/or provide case management services when needed to ensure each participant’s family/custody and legal issues are being addressed and PO’s are being updated at least monthly and that participant is in compliance with legal mandates.

Funding and Authorization Duties:

  • Adhere to all funding protocols, including submission of Service Request Form and completion of the ASAM.
  • Follow up on any funding issues that arise to make sure funding is received for services.

Reports, Documentation and Administrative Duties:

  • Enter all individual and group notes into the PHMC Client Registry within 7 business days
  • Adhere to all credentialing and licensing regulations
  • Ensure program participant charts are maintained and that a continuous record of all contacts, events, and progress toward accomplishment of goals as stated in the treatment plan.
  • Complete Discharge Summary, note and ASAM within one week of program participant’s termination of treatment.
  • Provide referrals for support services when requested.
  • Enhance, update and remain current with educational advances within the discipline and field by attending at least 25 hours of in-service or educational experience. Maintain file of all trainings certificates and training documentation forms for licensing purposes.
  • Ensure participation in mandatory HIV/AIDS (6 hours) and TB/STD (4 hours) trainings within one year of hire
  • Attend staff meetings, and other meetings as scheduled
  • Alert Supervisor and/or Program Director of any “need to know” concerns regarding clients that might jeopardize the safety of the program, client or other clients.
  • Adhere to all program policies and procedures
  • Record Progress Notes in the Data/Assessment/Plan (DAP) format.
  • Attend weekly case review meetings and consultations with the psychiatrist
  • Complete and send all required monthly reports to Project Dawn Court, FIR, Family Court, etc. within time frames provided by each Provider.
  • Complete Case Consult sheet every 90 days participant is in treatment or as needed if team meets with participant
  • Other duties assigned by Supervisor or Program Director.

Skills:

  • Experience in co-occurring (mental health/D&A) disorders
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency and the recovery process with particular awareness of the needs of women from diverse cultures
  • Ability to implement / learn evidence based therapeutic technique essential to assisting women in the process of recovery.
  • Competence in individual and group therapy

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or a related field and at least 1 year of clinical experience and some experience working with chemical dependency
  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling or social work with 3 years counseling experience in a substance use setting

Days and Hours:

  • Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am to 2pm

Salary:

  • Commensurate with education and experience.
