Job Description


  • As a member of the TPFC Foster Care Program (TPFC FC) team, the Home Certification Specialist Supervisor supports the daily operations of TPFC FC as needed, and participates as needed in overall strategic planning and evaluation for TPFC FC.
  • Provides direct supervision of all Home Certification Specialist duties and assigns, reviews and evaluates staff in these positions.
  • Through supervision, provides orientation and training to staff on methodologies and principles of foster care relevant to their work experience.
  • Conducts direct supervision of each individual staff member on a weekly or biweekly basis.
  • Approves time sheets and expenditure reports of staff under their supervision.
  • Assists TPFC FC staff in operationalizing new processes and program innovations.
  • Provides case coverage or carries cases as needed.
  • Conducts home visits for the purpose of quality assurance and customer service.
  • Willingness to transport clients, if needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Knowledge of social services, child welfare and family systems services.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in both Spanish and English preferred, but not required.
  • The ability and willingness to adjust work hours in accord with client need.
  • Ability to attend evening and weekend home visits
  • The use of a currently inspected car each day, including the possession of current auto insurance and driver’s license, and willingness to serve clients within a 50 mile radius of the CUA office.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate the activities of a group of workers in child welfare
  • Culturally sensitive to the needs and diversities of multi‐cultural communities.
  • Skills in typing, basic computer operations, Microsoft, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Strong writing and oral presentations skills
  • Must be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Able to work independently, demonstrating good judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, respectful, and courteous nature.
  • Practices good customer service skills in all working relationships.
  • Experience facilitating public meetings, and other public forums.


  •  At least 2 years’ experience in the management or administration of a social service program. Previous experience as a Foster Home Recruiter or Certification Specialist is required.

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s degree in social work preferred or in related field required.

 Salary Range:

  • Commensurate with education and experience.
