The Director, Social Competency and Saturday Program is responsible for comprehensive program development, program effectiveness, evaluation, safety, procedural guidelines, and training, as well implementing and monitoring the treatment of clients enrolled in The Center for Autism’s Social Competency and Saturday program. The Director is also responsible for the hiring, training, and supervision of mental health therapists, mental health professionals and program aides. This position reports to the Clinical Director.

Responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Coordinate with Clinical Director to ensure continuity of programs and goals
  • Ensure and monitor the quality, implementation, and integrity of the Social Competency and STEP programs
  • Supervise the delivery of treatment services/activities (assessment, implementation, and documentation) based on the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Social Competency and STEP programs
  • Directly supervise treatment programs, monitoring, program development, strategic planning, personnel management and adherence to program budget
  • Continuously review the clinical model to ensure that it is meeting the needs of individuals with ASD
  • Collaborate with Psychiatrists as needed
  • Develop relationships with outside agencies
  • Work to continuously fine tune the program model to respond to Autism Spectrum Disorder changing needs including evaluating new clinical interventions
  • Work with management to develop new programs and identify new funding opportunities that expand the number of individuals served and provide a continuum of services

Administrative

  • Ensure program meets revenue and census targets
  • Identify strategies to improve cost effectiveness and address overruns
  • Ensure program compliance with all federal, state, local laws; policies and procedures such as payer credentialing, licensing, and HIPPA
  • Point person to order supplies for the programs
  • Point person to coordinate transportation and address issue and grieves for Soc Comp and STEP
  • Point person for any facilities needs within the programs

Personnel Management:

  • Manage interview and hire process for AD, CSS, MHW and MHP positions
  • Supervise all clinical staff including but not limited to Assistant Director
  • Identify training needs and make certain that staff receives appropriate education/training that ensure that they have the tools necessary to effectively implement a quality program
  • Lead staff by giving productive feedback and setting limits
  • Oversee scheduling of staff
  • Conduct supervision meetings with staff in accordance with Center policy

Regulatory:

  • Ensure program compliance with Department of Human Services and Community Behavioral Health regulations, policies, and procedures (HIPPA)
  • Ensure program compliance with The Center for Autism’s policy and procedural guidelines
  • Ensure program compliance with all federal, state, and local laws

Public/Community Relations:

  • Attend community and regional meetings and events

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and writing communication skills, including experience writing proposals
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a changing environment and juggle multiple responsibilities and assignments
  • Strong leadership skills and initiative

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s level with license (LSW, LPC, LMFT, or LCSW)

Salary: 

  • Commensurate with education and experience
  • Grade 21
