The Public Health Project Manager is responsible for two or more public health projects for NNCC. These projects may be funded by various sources, including federal and state grants and private corporations. The Manager is responsible for execution of the day to day activities of the programs and all reporting responsibilities. This position will primarily support the Safe and Healthy Homes Program (SHHP) and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) project. The portfolio of projects may be subject to change as projects evolve and/or new funding opportunities arise. 

This position is located in Philadelphia.  This position reports directly to the Senior Program Manager and Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives. 

Responsibilities:

Manage –administrative, programmatic, and grant management activities of public health projects. Act as a liaison with project partners and other critical stakeholders. Ensure all reporting requirements are met. Adhere to program policies and procedures. Work with supervisor to create and manage service provider contracts to ensure contractual deliverables are met. Manage invoicing and financial accounting processes. Supervise staff and work collaboratively with program staff as well as interns. Provide support for grant applications as needed. Aid with side projects when needed. Ensure program quality.

Safe and Healthy Homes Program (SHHP) – Year 5

The goal of SHHP is to work in partnership with several agencies across Philadelphia and Delaware County to reduce illness and injury caused by home health and safety hazards, such as fire and fall hazards, asthma triggers, and lead.

Scope of Work (March 1 - June 30, 2021)

  • Convene NNCC project team weekly for program status updates.
  • Monitor milestones and due dates for project deliverables.
  • Develop or revise program policies and guidelines for service delivery in response to COVID-19.
  • Administer monthly survey to SHHP Program Partners (4 organizations) to collect program data.
  • Develop and administer additional surveys, as needed, to collect feedback from SHHP Partners to understand challenges and concerns during COVID-19.
  • Convene monthly meetings with NNCC and its 3 SHHP partners (Second Tues. each month).
  • Order and track supplies, as needed.
  • Support Senior Program Manager with preparation of quarterly reports and one annual report to funder.
  • Maintain awareness of local policy and/or program changes that may impact SHHP families, particularly in response to COVID-19.
  • Routinely scan for available local resources for families (e.g. maternal and child heath, housing, social services) that can be shared with SHHP Program Partners.
  • Manage invoice submission and tracking; contracts management.

Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute: 

The goals of the PCORI project include building nurse-led practices’ capacity to initiate the planning process for at least one new PCOR/CER project related to substance use care delivered in health centers and building national infrastructure for dissemination of PCOR/CER findings among nurse-led safety net practices.

Scope of Work (March 1 - August 31, 2021)

  • Support Nurse Training Manager and Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives with execution of PCORI deliverables, including ongoing updates, logistics, plan webinars, and recruit speakers.
  • Monitor milestones and due dates for project deliverables including but not limited to:
    • PCORI Engagement Award (now-June 2021):
      • Advise on content development and evaluation of 2 of 10 remaining webinars in learning series
      • Advise and assist in the development of remaining position paper (Hepatitis C) of 3 proposed
    • PCORI COVID Enhancement award (now-August 2021):
      • Advise on content development and delivery of 3 COVID focused webinars
      • Manage development and dissemination of national NP Stakeholder Survey in coordination with project team
      • Support development of position papers resulting from key informant interviews and NP Stakeholder Survey
    • Prepare agenda for weekly NNCC PCORI leadership team meetings and monthly Steering Committee (SC) meetings.
      • Develop and disseminate agenda, take meeting notes, and share notes with team post-meeting.
    • Support NNCC PCORI Steering Committee, responsibilities include:
      • Develop and disseminate agenda, meeting PowerPoint slides, take meeting notes, and share notes with Steering Committee post-meeting.
      • Attend monthly steering committee meeting March 2021- August 2021 (First Wed each month).
      • Provide Steering Committee members webinar marketing materials to disseminate among their network channels.
      • Develop bi-weekly email project updates to Steering Committee members.
    • Manage webinar speaker engagement, webinar development, CE process, logistics, registration link, postwebinar evaluation and provide tech support for webinars (once per month).
    • Collaborate with NNCC Communications team to regularly update NNCC PCORI portal website.
    • Administer quarterly surveys with Steering Committee members, Patient Representatives, Leadership Team.
    • Support Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives with reporting to funder and materials for PCORI Salesforce portal.
    • Manage contracts and invoice submission and tracking via PHMC DMS for patient representatives and steering committee members.
    • Provide tech support and engagement with patient representatives to the PCORI project.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in public health, project management, direct service programs, or related area required.

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in public health, health sciences, or equivalent required.

Salary: 

  • Commensurate with education and
  • Grade 19
