Job Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing oversight of multiple public health projects for NNCC.  These projects are funded by various funding sources, including federal and state grants and private corporations. The Senior Manager acts as the direct liaison with the funding agencies and is responsible for oversight of all reporting and budgetary responsibilities. Projects may include AmeriCorps, workforce development, including death certification and relevant program oversight.  Position is located in Philadelphia, PA, but may be local, regional, or national in scope. The Senior Project Manager will report directly to Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives.

Responsibilities: 

Project Oversight:

  • Oversee all aspects of AmeriCorps Programs, PADOH Death Certification project and relevant Hepatitis and Opioid-related work, including day-to-day operations and compliance with project budget and deliverables. Monitor project expenditures.
  • Communicate regularly with external AmeriCorps and internship partners.
  • Manage all grant reports to funders.
  • Develop contact tracing programs and internships with public health and nursing schools
  • Stay up to date on policies and research related to contact tracing, hepatitis, opioid and substance use disorders.
  • Submit proposals and grants to further NNCC AmeriCorps programming.

Staff Oversight:

  • Supervise Public Health Project Manager 
  • Supervise AmeriCorps VISTA Leader.
  • Oversee AmeriCorps State and VISTA members, as appropriate for relevant projects.
  • Support Project Manager and Project Coordinator develop web-based professional development opportunities for AmeriCorps members to collaborate during their service year, both through teleservice and in-person service.

Strategic Partnership Development:

  • Represent NNCC's AmeriCorps, Hepatitis, and Opioid programs at local, state and national conferences.
  • Work with the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives to represent NNCC's AmeriCorps and workforce development programs.
  • Oversee program development and expansion by recruiting new AmeriCorps host sites through internal and external partner communications.
  • Research and monitor changing national priorities to align with funder preferences for projects.
  • Manage partnership with Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Public Health Management Corporation Health Network and other relevant partners for continued and expanded collaboration.

Organizational Development:

  • Develop new business opportunities to diversify revenue streams to build long-term sustainability of NNCC AmeriCorps, workforce development and internship programs.
  • Identify and secure opportunities to sustain and grow funding for organization.
  • Support Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives in management of program budgets.

Skills: 

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express him/herself concisely and clearly.
  • Professional, friendly demeanor and strong verbal presentation skills by phone and in person.
  • Confidence to communicate effectively with health center managers, nonprofit leadership, community organization leadership, executive staff of other collaborating national organizations, and federal officials related to the program. • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work collaboratively with a team including internal staff and external partners.
  • Comfort with developing and presenting training and educational materials to large audiences 
  • Strong supervisory skills

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in development, program management, management of consulting services, communications/marketing, and/or operations within community- based health care or a related field.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to express him/herself concisely and clearly.
  • Professional, friendly demeanor and strong verbal presentation skills by phone and in person.
  • Confidence to communicate effectively with health center managers and executive Senior Program Managers, executive staff of other collaborating national organizations, and federal officials related to the program.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work collaboratively with a team including internal staff and external partners.
  • Very strong organizational and managerial/fiscal skills, including the ability to: prioritize work projects, work under tight deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, manage program budgets, supervise staff effectively, manage time effectively and communicate clearly with supervisors.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, TEAMS).
  • Proficiency with webinar hosting
  • Experience processing vendor contracting, invoicing and fiscal budgeting  
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Education Requirement:

  • Masters in Public Health, Public Administration/Policy, or equivalent.

Salary:

  • Commensurate with education and experience.
  • Grade 20
