Job Description

The Public Health Project Coordinator is responsible for one or more public health projects for NNCC.  These projects may be funded by various sources, including federal and state grants and private corporations. The Coordinator assists the Senior Program Manager with engaging stakeholders and funding agencies. The Coordinator is responsible for the day to day activities of the programs and supports reporting responsibilities. This position will primarily support the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) project and the Safe and Healthy Homes Program (SHHP). The portfolio of projects may be subject to change as projects evolve and/or new funding opportunities arise.

This position is located in Philadelphia.  This position reports directly to the Senior Program Manager and Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives.  

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate –administrative, programmatic, and grant management activities of public health projects. Act as a direct liaison with funding agencies, project partners, and other critical stakeholders. Ensure all reporting requirements are met. Adhere to program policies and procedures. Work with supervisor to create and manage service provider contracts to ensure contractual deliverables are met. Provide support for invoicing and financial accounting processes in coordination with the Senior Program Manager. Work collaboratively with program staff as well as interns. Provide support for grant applications as needed. Aid with side projects when needed. Ensure program quality.

Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) – Year 2 The goals of the PCORI project include building nurse-led practices’ capacity to initiate the planning process for at least one new PCOR/CER project related to substance use care delivered in health centers and building national infrastructure for dissemination of PCOR/CER findings among nurse-led safety net practices. Scope of Work (October 1 – August 31, 2021)

  • Support Senior Program Manager with execution of PCORI deliverables including ongoing updates, logistics, plan webinars, and recruit speakers.
  • Monitor milestones and due dates for project deliverables including but not limited to:
    • PCORI Engagement Award (July 2020-June 2021):  
    • Advise on content development and evaluation of remaining 5 of 10 remaining webinars in learning series 
    • Advise and assist in the development of remaining position paper (Hepatitis C) of 3 proposed.
  • PCORI COVID Enhancement award (September 2020-August 2021):
    • Advise on content development and delivery of 6 COVID focused webinars
    • Coordinate delivery of focus group and naturalistic survey
    • Support development of two position papers
  • Prepare agenda for weekly NNCC PCORI leadership team meetings and monthly Steering Committee (SC) meetings.
    • Draft and disseminate agenda, take meeting notes, and share notes with team post-meeting.  
  • Support NNCC PCORI Steering Committee, responsibilities include:
    • Draft and disseminate agenda, take meeting notes, and share notes with Steering Committee post-meeting.  
    • Attend monthly steering committee meeting October 2020- August 2021 (First Wed each month).
    • Provide Steering Committee members webinar marketing materials to disseminate among their network channels
    • Develop weekly email project updates to Steering Committee members
  • Coordinate webinar speaker engagement, webinar development, CE process, logistics, registration link, post-webinar evaluation and provide tech support for webinars (once per month).
  • Coordinate with NNCC Communications team to regularly update NNCC PCORI portal website.
  • Administer quarterly surveys with Steering Committee members, Patient Representatives, Leadership Team.
  • Upload materials to PCORI Salesforce portal. 
  • Support contracts management and invoice submission and tracking via PHMC DMS for patient representatives and steering committee members.
  • Provide tech support and engagement with patient representatives to the PCORI project.

Safe and Healthy Homes Program (SHHP) – Year 5 The goal of SHHP is to work in partnership with several agencies across Philadelphia and Delaware County to reduce illness and injury caused by home health and safety hazards, such as fire and fall hazards, asthma triggers, and lead. Scope of Work (October 1 – June 30, 2021)

  • Meet with Senior Program Manager and Community Health Navigator regularly for program status updates. 
  • Keep track of milestones and due dates for project deliverables.
  • Support the development or revision of program policies and guidelines for service delivery in response to COVID-19.
  • Support administration of monthly survey to SHHP Program Partners (4 organizations) to collect program data.
  • Develop and administer additional surveys, as needed, to collect feedback from SHHP Partners to understand challenges and concerns during COVID-19.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with NNCC and its 3 SHHP Partners (Second Tues. each month).
  • Support supplies ordering and tracking, as needed (typically on quarterly basis). 
  • Support Senior Program Manager in preparing quarterly reports to funder and 1 annual report to funder. 
  • Maintain awareness of local policy and/or program changes that may impact SHHP families, particularly in response to COVID-19.
  • Routinely scan for available local resources for families (e.g. maternal and child heath, housing, social services) that can be shared with SHHP Program Partners. 
  • Support invoice submission and tracking; support contracts management and tracking.  

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in public health, project coordination, or related area required.   

Education Requirement:

  • Master’s Degree in public health, health sciences, or equivalent required. 

Salary:

  • Commensurate with education and experience
  • Grade 18
