Job Description

The Marketing Communications Manager will work in the combined Communications/ Strategy Development department, reporting to the Marketing Communications Director and/or the Senior Director. This role contributes to the execution of the departmental initiatives as they relate to positioning PHMC internally and externally with all stakeholders.

The position provides critical coordination and support to the team in a variety of ways, including but not limited to creating relevant and compelling content across multiple channels, managing multiple and simultaneous projects, and serving as the communications liaison across designated programs and subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under direction of team leadership, implements strategic marketing communications plans in support of the enterprise, its subsidiaries and programs.
  • Collaborates with team members on delivery of all internal communications, assisting with development and management of editorial calendar, copywriting, editing and providing creative support as needed.
  • Provides support in development and execution of PHMC marketing channels and deliverables.
  • Provides account management support for specific client accounts, under the direction of team leadership, including establishing regular/consistent outreach and planning with clients to promote goals.
  • Provides support to peer and supervisory team members as needed.
  • Participates in creative planning sessions with program, subsidiary and shared services leaders.
  • Works closely with design team to execute internal/external campaigns.
  • Provides administrative support on various team deliverables.
  • Collaborates with external vendors including, but not limited to Maven, MLCreative and Camos Media as needed.
  • Participates in internal and external stakeholder meetings as required.

  • Outstanding written, verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex information into understandable communications.
  • Ability to approach role with broad marketing communications lens; integrating traditional communications, branding and marketing approaches to meet the needs of the organization.
  • High degree of personal initiative, with an approach of introducing new ideas and a fresh perspective.
  • Ability to take direction and execute on plans.
  • Willingness to seek input, hear feedback.
  • Ability to work independently, providing relevant updates to leaders, communicating about anticipated challenges and roadblocks, problem-solving.

Experience Required:

  • Three to five years of experience in the communications field across a variety of areas, with the ability to integrate internal/external communications and marketing.
  • Excellent project management abilities, with emphasis on executing on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience in approaching work in partnership and support of others; relationship-driven, customer-focused and client-oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail with willingness to take initiative.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications/journalism/English or liberal arts preferred.

Salary:

  • Commensurate with education and experience
  • Grade 19
