Job Description

This position will coordinate supportive services for a Spanish Speaking only caseload of 40 to 50 individuals in Philadelphia Drug Treatment Court.


  • Providing case management services to chemically dependent participants of Philadelphia Treatment Court with a focus on Spanish speaking participants.
  • Documentation of service provision within 24hrs of service completion to participants assigned.
  • Case Managers will ensure the delivery of comprehensive services to assigned participants in the areas of housing, education, vocation, mental health, medical, child welfare, domestic violence, legal and recovery oriented community services.
  • Participation in bi-weekly supervision meetings.
  • Case Managers are responsible for meeting with participants twice monthly or more if clinically necessary.
  • Monthly site visits to treatment program are required in an effort to maximize coordination of care.
  • Serve as liaisons between the treatment facility and legal team.
  • Case Managers will prepare accurate and timely progress summaries and present at the bar of the court.    
  • Submit reauthorization documentation of services for individuals on caseload
  • Completion of discharge summaries within timeframes specified by the program.
  • Maintain participant records in accordance with agency fee for service standards, managed care, and licensing requirements
  • Prioritizing assisting participants to enroll in treatment, physical health services, DPA, vocational services, and educational services.
  • Identify, coordinate, and link community resources to participant to promote accessibility to recovery oriented community services
  • Submit statistical information as requested by supervisor
  • Maintain PAJCIS and CRS compliance and accountability with current participant information (DAP formatted notes)
  • Case Managers will play a key role in developing intra and inter organizational linkages, fostering collaborative relationships with various programmatic entities.
  • Case Managers will conduct urine drug screens for Treatment Court participants as required.
  • Case Managers will regularly meet with participants in treatment facilities, recovery houses and follow up on court ordered sanctions or requests and phase calculations.
  • Case Managers will perform all other duties as assigned.


  • Bilingual fluency a must
  • Mental Health background a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet timelines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria and co-occurring issues
  • Working knowledge of participants with forensic affiliation
  • Preferences for this opportunity include experience in: case management services with participants with forensic backgrounds who have abused illicit psychoactive substances, knowledge of local Spanish services/agencies, and experience in courtroom presentations.


  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and two (2) years of direct contact with participants in a substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
  • Case Managers must complete required Case Management trainings provided by BHTEN within one year of hire.
