  • This position is classified as salaried non-exempt in accordance to FLSA standards.

Through a partnership between Public Health Management Corporation and Congreso de Latinos Unidos, Congreso Health Center provides primary health care, health promotion and wellness services. The center’s comprehensive and educational approach encourages patients to make well-informed decisions regarding the management of their health. A bilingual, bicultural staff delivers services to the West Kensington community in both Spanish and English.

This position is Spanish speaking preferred.

Provide primary care services for adults or families in a community-based health center for underserved populations.


  • Responsible for traveling to three sites when needed for coverage
  • Responsible for all front Desk Functions in a Primary Care setting
  • Schedule Appointments
  • Schedule specialty and ancillary appointments
  • Answer Phones
  • Complete Managed Care Referrals
  • Obtain Pre-Certs when needed
  • Responsible for patient registration data entry
  • Verify insurance
  • Daily Batching of encounter forms
  • Log referrals in tracking system
  • Follow up for reports from specialists
  • Arrange transportation when needed for patients
  • Assist Nurse Practitioners and clinical staff when needed
  • Assist patients when needed
  • Review patients charts and encounter forms for completion
  • File reports, file charts
  • Triage patients when needed, including Blood Pressure, Weight, Height and Pulse
  • Injections when needed, Immunizations when needed
  • Venipuncture when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


  • Verify Insurances
  • Bilingual in speaking in English and Spanish
  • Data Entry
  • Familiar with Managed Care Plans and Referral Process
  • Knowledge of ICD 9 Codes
  • Extensive Medical Terminology
  • Extensive Organization Skills
  • Must have pleasant manner
  • Ability to assist Clinical Staff when required
  • Ability to manage and complete work assigned by several staff
  • Must be flexible


  • One to two years’ experience in a medical office environment


  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Diploma from Accredited Medical Assistant School
  • Certified Medical Assistant


  • Commensurate with education and experience.
